Who Stole My Pizza? A piano mystery for beginners

PRIMER LEVEL

It’s the night of his big piano concert and Henry is late! The traffic is terrible so he orders a pizza to be delivered to his dressing room … but when Henry gets there, all that’s left is the empty box!

An incredibly fun book. I have about 15 students in this book. They all love it. | Social Media

Piano detective adventure

This fun piano mystery has seven original tunes to learn, including ‘Tomato Tango’ and ‘Sticky Fingers Waltz’ (all with optional teacher duet), and is full of theory puzzles with hidden clues to solve. Unscramble the ‘Secret Note’ or follow the ‘Footprint Maze’ to rule out suspects and find the pizza thief.

A ‘guess who’ style mystery

Who did witnesses see hanging round the dressing room door? Were they wearing a hat, or did they have grey hair? Budding detectives cross off the suspects one by one as Henry finds more evidence. Each possible thief is a member of the orchestra and any of them could have stolen such a tasty treat!

Been buying them like crazy. My students love this book. Great summer activity book. Thank you for keeping kids engaged with music | Social Media

The piano music

Ideal for use during the first year of learning, the note range includes CDEFG in the right hand and CBAGF in the left. Students follow the thief’s tracks playing tunes like ‘Sneaky Footprints’ and visit the orchestra’s dressing room to hear the sounds of the players warming up as they play ‘Blip Blop’. Each original piano tune includes an optional piano teacher accompaniment.

‘Who Stole My Pizza’ covers theory a student might encounter in their method book, such as time values of 1, 2, 3 and 4 beats, time signatures of 2, 3 and 4 beats in a bar, and simple musical signs. Perfect for reinforcing and consolidating what they have learnt so far.

Pizza parties

Many piano teachers have been in touch to tell me about the fun events they have held with ‘Who Stole My Pizza!’. It has been used in everything from individual and group lessons, to summer camps, and even a fun detective themed pizza party. Find out how one fantastic teacher created a fun event for her students below!

We are using Susan Leigh’s mystery books to add fun and excitement to our studio. Our students were off school January 20 so we hosted a mystery class Who Stole My Pizza? It was so much fun! …. The kids LOVED it and they all were excited to hear there are more mystery books to complete. Once the class solved the mystery we had the “missing pizza” delivered to celebrate. Then – took a photo of each “detective” who worked the case … It was soooo much fun!! | Charla Welch Warren on Facebook
