My students love emojis! My own vocabulary is probably quite small, compared to theirs, with the odd smiley or laughing face in my messages. So I decided to create a music game based on emojis.
It’s all about key signatures using the keys of C, D, F and G major in the treble and bass clefs. Questions include draggable sharp or flat signs to turn some music into the correct key, choosing the key signature, working out the key of the music and more.
Students pick as many odd one out emojis as they can before the time runs out. But they multiply as the round goes on so it gets harder to spot them! All the emojis are cute animals with bunnies and bears, plus the later levels are really tough with sloths and tigers.
Emoji Challenge is one of many grade one level theory games in the ‘Theory One’ pack and available with a ‘Presto’ Teacher membership (over 160 online games to play!).
