One of the things I’m often asked in my music studio is, “can we make a superhero again?”. My younger students love this game, and the best thing is that they are practising theory!
Students answer questions about rests (1, 2 and 4 or whole bar rests) and if they achieve enough points, unlock the superhero part of the game. They can choose how to dress their character with boots, cloaks, outfits, belts and more. Check out the video below for a quick demo.
This game is part of a collection called “Beginner Theory” and includes games like Dragon Wars, Jungle Photobomb, Pizza Takeaway and more. Theory topics covered are note and rest values, time signatures of 2, 3 and 4 beats in a bar, musical signs, dynamics and general theory.
“Beginner Theory” is included in a Presto Teacher membership with over 160 games, activities and resources to explore. Find out more here.
