PIANO LEVEL 3A
‘Escape Dragon Island’ is a fun piano and theory mystery adventure book. Learn the tunes and find clues in the theory puzzles to solve the case and escape the island!

A piano adventure
From the author of the popular piano book, ‘Who Stole My Pizza?’, is this fun ‘escape room’ style adventure for piano! A mysterious piano in a remote corner of a music shop transports you to a strange and abandoned island. You find clues from other lost and weary travellers. But only music knowledge will help you get home.
The piano music
Someone called Sophie (visiting from 1995) has left you a map to follow. There are eight original tunes to learn as you navigate the island including ‘The Forest’, ‘The Castle’ and ‘Dragons Lair’ and most can be played with an optional teacher accompaniment. The level of difficulty is equivalent to the early stages of a level 3a method book (such as Piano Adventures).
The theory puzzles
Follow Sophie’s footsteps and discover clues in the theory puzzles. Sneak around the ‘Scary Path’ to avoid the dragons, row an ‘Abandoned Boat’ out on to the river to look for help in a shipwreck, and follow the ‘Forest Maze’ to an interesting wishing well. There are codebreakers, mazes, scramble puzzles, match ups, colouring activities and more.
‘Escape Dragon Island’ is aimed at learners who are comfortably moving around the piano and stretching out of hand positions, and is equivalent to around the early stages of level 3A of Piano Adventures. It also includes much use of the sustaining pedal and introduces the time signature of 6/8.

Where will the map lead?
Intrepid explorers find musical clues at every turn as they try to ‘escape’. A QR code leads to the solution to check if they successfully completed the mystery, and there is a colourful certificate at the back of the book.
