PIANO PRIMER LEVEL TO EARLY LEVEL 1
‘Mystery in Room 13’ is the second book in a fun beginner piano adventure series after ‘Who Stole The Broccoli?‘. Budding detectives are immersed in a mystery designed to engage students and add enjoyment to lessons.

A piano adventure
Detective Drake is on the case again but this time there is a “Mystery in Room 13” at Hotel Dolce! Staff were making the bed when they found a stolen painting peeking out from under the mattress. Only piano and theory skills will solve the case, reveal who was staying in room 13, and find the sneaky art thief.
Beginner piano
This story based adventure works well as both a stand-alone method book, or alongside any other piano method series as a supplement to reinforce learning. Ideal from around age 8 upwards, it builds on the first book in the series, ‘Who Stole The Broccoli‘, introducing notes in the low C position in the bass clef, and gradually adding more music theory.
The contents
Both books in this series are a unique way to learn piano and make learning engaging right from the first lesson. Budding piano detectives learn tunes in a progressive order of difficulty (with teacher accompaniment) and discover ‘clues’ in the theory puzzles. There are mazes, scramble puzzles, match ups, colouring activities and more.
The book is aimed at the beginner learner and level wise is equivalent to the second half of a series like Piano Adventures Primer through to the first part of level one. This series can be used alongside any piano method book as a supplement to learning, and is also ideal as a stand alone method.

The finger number trap
Like ‘Who Stole the Broccoli’ , this book is keen to ensure students are future proofed when it comes to finger numbers. The tunes encourage students not to associate piano keys with certain finger numbers, so that when they move into different hand positions it is a smoother transition (however, there is flexibility to change this should teachers wish to follow another approach).
Who is the art thief?
Budding piano detectives follow the evidence ruling out suspects one by one as they progress through the book. A QR code leads to the solution to check if they found the thief, and there is a colourful certificate at the back of the book for successful investigators.
